Circumferential
Stiffening Rings

Twelve – 10 gauge SA-240/480 T304 stainless steel channel circumferential stiffening rings,
fully welded to exterior of shell.  Ό” drain holes located at top and bottom centers of each ring

Horizontal Stiffening Channels

Twelve – 10 gauge SA-240/480 T304 stainless steel horizontal channel stiffeners in pairs, offset from
top centerline, fully welded to exterior of shell.

Internal barrel – W-3 circumferential seams, longitudinal seams and nozzles.

 

Bolsters Outriggers and Sub frames

Bolster assembly consists of 10 gauge T304 stainless steel outriggers and crossmember.   Upper frame side rails are 10 gauge
T304 stainless steel and integrally designed into the bolster assembly.  Subframes are fully welded to the upper frame rails
.

 

Steam Heating With Intransit

Sixteen-gauge stainless dimpled steam pan, 150 psi MAWP, with steam inlet located over front curbside fender equipped with male
steam fitting, 150 psi relief valve and Ύ” ball valve.  Outlet at center equipped with Ύ” ball valve and steam trap.  In-transit inlet and
outlet are located at lower curbside of front head and equipped with Ύ” ball valves.  Stainless steel piping used throughout system.

 

Spill dams and overturns

T304 SS SA240/480 with 10 gauge forward and aft overturns and 12 gauge fully welded inner floor.  One 1½” drain located in rear of spill dam on street-side with external rubber hose to bottom center.


 

 

Insulation

6” R-19 un-faced fiberglass insulation compressed to 5” across vessel and 12” deep in the front and rear heads.

 

Jacketing

22 gauge T304 bright stainless steel jacket, full length of vessel with lapped seams and belly wrapped
mid section.  20 gauge T304 bright stainless steel front and rear jacket heads with lock-seam joints. 
Subcomponents under jacket are stainless steel.  Aluminum underlayment extends from spill
dam to the ends of the tank
.

 

Thermometer

Bulb type, 0 – 300 degrees Fahrenheit located at eye level on curbside near support area.

 

Calibration

Theoretical in Ό” increments with stainless steel outage chart located on jacket near curbside support leg.

 

Tank and Pipe Fittings

Manhole

Betts 20” SA-240/480 T316L stainless steel full opening manhole equipped with 6 stainless steel
swing hold-downs and white hypalon gasket.  Hinge positioned toward front of tank.

 

Cleanouts

Three 3” Sch 40 T316L stainless steel threaded nipples and solid caps.  One located in manhole cover. 
Two located approximately 10’ from the front and rear heads respectively with overturn protection

 

Venting

One Girard pressure relief vent and one Girard vacuum relief vent mounted on 3” nipples rearward of manhole.  Vacuum
vent equipped with Ό” pressure gauge and air unloading package terminating with a Ύ” ball valve and universal air fitting
.

 

Emergency Outlets and Valves

Betts T316 stainless 4” mounting pad, Betts T316 stainless internal hydraulic valve, Betts T316 stainless 4” x 3”x 90 degree elbow and
Betts T316 stainless QRB hydrolet valve terminating with 3” NPT, T316L stainless male cam lock adapter and 3” stainless dust cap. 
Hydraulic pump located at rear of suspension, copper line to emergency fusible/frangible device at front streetside.
 

Vapor Recovery

     One 3" Sch 40 T316L stainless steel nozzle located in rear, center of spill dam for future vapor recovery.

 

     Air Unloading

    Inlet assembly is located over the curbside fender and is equipped with a universal air fitting and cap, water separating 5-micron
    particulate filter, pressure  gauge and Ύ” ball valve.  1” OD stainless steel piping run from the assembly under the jacket up into the
    spill dam.  Outlet in spill-dam is equipped with a flexible jumper hose, terminated with a universal air fitting.  Blank universal fitting
    located in dam for in-transit hose storage.

 

Gaskets

Flanged fittings are equipped with Teflon envelope gaskets.  Cleanout caps are equipped with solid Teflon gaskets.

 

Misc

Seal tabs on openings.  Caps equipped with 1/8” plastic coated stainless steel cables.

 

Chassis

Upper 5th Wheel

Standard fifth wheel adjustable within 2” increments.

 

Landing Gear

Holland/Binkley “Contender” square leg with sand shoes, 2 speed curbside crank,
50,000 lb lift and 140,000 lb load capacity mounted on a stainless steel frame

Suspension Frame

One 18” wide stainless steel ladder with flat dimple grip rungs, 11½” aluminum
grip-strut top step, 1½” side rails and 1” O.D. stainless hand rail.  Grab handle on ladder side of spill dam.

 

Walkway

Aluminum grip strut 28½” wide extends from spill-dam to cleanouts.

 

Hose Carrier

Two aluminum hose tubes, 8” or 10” x 23’ with cast aluminum doors on each end,
mounted one on each side, with stainless supports anchored with stainless u-bolts
and 22 gauge bright stainless wraps at anchor points.

 

Lights and Wiring

Grote light kit, 12 volt harness with seven-way connector.  Stainless steel light boxes
at rear, side marker and front clearance lights mounted in stainless brackets. 
Side marker lights operate in conjunction with turn signals. 
All lines (electrical, air and hydraulic) to be enclosed in a black  plastic wire loom

Four aluminum placard holders mounted on jacket accessible from ground on the sides and the heads.
